How the Nessoo Report sources every number.
Every number on this site is real and traceable. Here is where they come from, what our own Nessoo numbers mean, and how to cite us.
Every number on the Nessoo Report is either public data credited to its source, Nessoo's own platform data, or simple math on those two with the method shown.
- →Outside sources are listed at the bottom of every article.
- →Nessoo numbers say whether they are all-time or active right now.
- →If we cannot back a number, we do not publish it.
I started the Nessoo Report for one reason.
Renters, landlords and reporters deserve numbers they can trust.
So here is the rule. Every number on this site is real and traceable. If we cannot back it, it does not go up.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every number is one of three things.
- Public data. Rents, laws, fraud reports. We check it at the original source, and we list that source at the bottom of the article.
- Nessoo data. Numbers from our own platform and our team’s leasing work in New York. We label them as Nessoo data every time.
- Our math. Simple math on the first two, like the median rent times 40. We always show the method, so you can check it yourself.
No guesses dressed up as stats. No “studies show” without the study.
What do the Nessoo numbers mean?
Some of our numbers are all-time. Some are what is active right now. We always say which.
All-time:
- 5,000+ renters verified on Nessoo to date.
- 1,500+ leases signed by our team.
- 30,000+ units our team represents. Not all of these are listed at once.
Active right now:
- About 750 active verified renters searching.
- 600+ active listings.
How Nessoo works:
- 40M+ monthly reach across our social media.
- 4.8 days. The median time to lease on Nessoo.
- 52x. The median verified renter on Nessoo earns 52 times their monthly rent.
- 50% fewer tours. What renters on Nessoo average.
On Nessoo, renters verify their income and identity once, upfront. Landlords and brokers only get in if we let them in, and we verify them too.
