Meet Homey. How the Nessoo matching agent ranks a unit for you.
Homey is the AI agent inside Nessoo. It learns how you live, then helps match you to apartments that fit. Here is what it does, and what it does not do.
Homey is Nessoo's AI agent. It learns a renter's lifestyle and preferences, then helps match that renter to units that fit their budget and the way they live.
- →Renters verify income and identity once, upfront.
- →Homey matches verified renters directly to units that fit.
- →It ranks units by what you qualify for, income to rent, and your lifestyle.
Most apartment searches in New York start the same way.
You open 15 tabs.
You filter by price.
You scroll until your thumb hurts.
And the apps still have no idea who you are.
That is the problem we built Homey to fix.
What is Homey?
Homey is the AI agent inside Nessoo.
It does two jobs.
For renters, it helps you find the right apartment by learning your lifestyle and your preferences. Not just your price range. How you actually live.
For agents and owners, it helps match the right tenant to their unit.
Same agent. Both sides of the lease.
Why does Homey only work with verified renters?
Because a match is only useful if it is real.
On Nessoo, renters verify their income and identity once, upfront. That is it.
Once you are verified, you get matched directly to units that fit your budget and your lifestyle.
That changes the conversation for everyone.
The owner knows you are who you say you are.
The owner knows you can afford the place.
And you are not sending your pay stubs to 10 strangers.
And it works both ways. Nessoo is closed. The only landlords and brokers on it are the ones we let in, and we verify them first.
How does Homey decide which units to show you?
This is the question I get the most, so I want to be precise.
Homey ranks every unit on three things.
- What you qualify for. Your income is already verified, so Homey puts units in front of you that you can actually get approved for.
- How your income matches the rent. Homey weighs your verified income against the rent. A unit that fits your budget comfortably ranks above one that stretches it.
- Your life. Everything you tell Homey counts. Kids. Schools. Where you work. How you live.
So the same two-bedroom ranks one way for a family that needs a good school nearby, and a completely different way for two roommates who work in Midtown.
Most apps sort by price.
Homey sorts by your life.
What has matching done for renters so far?
The numbers are early, but they are real.
The median verified renter on Nessoo earns 52x their monthly rent. These are renters owners want.
Renters on Nessoo average 50% fewer tours.
And the median time to lease on Nessoo is 4.8 days.
Fewer tours is the part I care about most. Every tour is an hour of your life, a trip across the city, and usually a day off work you did not want to take.
If the match is right before you walk in, you walk into fewer places.
What Homey is not
I want to be just as clear about this part.
- It is not a broker. There are no broker fees on Nessoo. If you want a broker, you can hire one directly, and then you pay them.
- It is not a listings dump. The whole point is to show you fewer, better units.
How I see it
The old search was built for volume.
More listings. More tours. More applications.
That model worked for the people getting paid per showing. It never worked for the renter.
Homey is built for the opposite. Know the renter first, then show them the few places that actually fit.
You should not have to tour half the city to find your apartment.
